As I was being driven up the mountain viewing some of the most dazzling landscapes I've seen in the Middle East, the driver recounted to me some of the most harrowing of Lebanon's war stories ... the contrast between the physical beauty of the country and the horror of its recent political history summed up for me this country's tragic legacy.
