This was my first non-business visit to Cairo in 22 years and although the city is crowded, dirty, decaying, impoverished and noisy yet still it beats with a big heart like few other cities I've known .... there is never a dull moment and one can't help loving the place ... I felt genuinely sad as I was about to leave.

HIM2 > The Oberoi Mena House Hotel is a hotel rich in history ... originally built by an English couple over a century ago it remains one of the best hotels in town and a welcome reprieve from the hustle & bustle of Cairo life .... the location is incomparable!
HIM2 > The 'Sound & Light' show at the pyramids incorporates a stunning multi media display in which the history of the pyramids is described ... all narrated by ... the sphynx!
HIM2 > Egyptian life has always evolved around the two sides of their great river Nile .... on the horizon and through the smog you can just trace the outline of the pyramids.
HIM2 > The noseless Sphynx guarding the sacred sites of the pyramids 24/7 for several millenia.
HIM2 > When you can't afford a dryer, there s no better use for the sun!
HIM2 > Pitta bread seller on a cairo street.
HIM2 > Cairo river Nile view

HIM2 > 'Dreamland' theme park designed by the creators of the disneyland theme parks .. but considerably cheaper!  

Tip: do not visit on a hot summer's day!
